Trust in many ways seems to be like walking a tightrope. It's scary and very easy think you'll fall - that the person you are trusting will shake the tightrope and that will be that.
However trust isn't really like that. It's more of a bank account. You pay in a bit at a time. You see that the bank doesn't run off with your money so you pay in a bit more and a bit more. It's only if the bank runs off that you stop.
People are exactly the same. You trust someone with a fragment. You start to give bigger and bigger bits. Eventually you realise - you trust them.
This is an on-going process with every person you meet.
I have had trust issues in the past and I found this might help. Especially when trying to build trust going into a new relationship.

Unfortunately my fortune is not yet in hand so I could not treat her as well as she is destined for but if I ever become a billionaire I would give it all to her so she could do as she pleases.

I'm rarely enthused at seeing desperate singles; a boyfriend or a girlfriend will not fix your problems. This mindset deprives the blessings which can come without the distraction of a romantic entanglement.
Neither, we're still a couple but have talked about getting married. We've both agreed to wait until we're both finished with school, my s.o. just finished the first year of PT school.

Indeed. I'd be down with a close female friend, but I'm a little hesitant about the romantic side of things. But criminy, I'm too plumb busy right now. I'm fine with it.... when/if it happens, it will happen, and it'll probably happen at the right time. It's unbelievably freeing not to feel as if I have to worry about it.Exactly!
