  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

yeppers, It is hard to watch the times and not come to that conclusion. Personally I have had prophetic dreams some of which have come true, I have also had a few end times dreams and God has been clear to me about what is coming.

I also must warn you though that I do not believe the idea of a pre-trib rapture is scriptural, not did almost anyone in the church until the 1800's. I am sadly quite certain we will have to endure it.

I think if you look at how the world is turning against Christians. The problems in the church, and the Jews which have already started building the stuff to go in Solomons temple. Yeah i think it is coming, when the last gentile comes to God, The anti Christ will be lose and then begins the time of the Jews. I hope we are raptured away, it is biblical 2 will be in the field, and one taken, but it is the Church the Body of Christ which is taken up. The jews will have to endure. If My school is wrong and I am wrong God help us because many many of us will die and suffer greatly, such has never been. But we will have a great reward too. Those who give there life shall find it and those who seek to keep there life shall lose life.

There are a lot of ideas about the Translation of the Church --the Bride of Christ, but one needs to be "rightly dividing the Word of Truth", as God says, rather than religious reasonings. Here is a paper that gives some help to this important subject, and a more thorough paper is available if one is a serious seeker:

An Overview Of Thoughts
THOUGHTS AND TERMS OF THE TRANSLATION
COMMENTARY BY R. L. DEWITT, 10/11
Some of the faithful saints of God see that the church ---the Bride of Christ, will be called out of this world before the wrath of God falls on this scene in the Tribulation time.

The Bride will be joined to the Lord Jesus in Heaven forever in the day of Translation; and after the Judgment Seat of Christ and the Marriage Supper she will return with Him when He comes down to conquer this world at the end of the Tribulation period, and establish His reign for a thousand years (the Millennium). The scene on earth after the departure of the church ---very likely soon, will be chaos and panic as thousands of souls are missing from towns and cities. It will become painfully clear that the Scripture was true, and the door of this day of grace has been shut, like unto the days of Noah (see Matt. 24:37-42). Let us meditate a little on the conditions here below.

BRIEF ORDER OF EVENTS
1. Sudden translation of the Church –the "Day of Christ" (often called "the rapture" can happen at any time, for all prophecy has been fulfilled for that --1 Cor.1; 1 Cor.15:51; 1 Th.4:13-18 ---a meeting of saints in the air, not on earth);

2. Possible pause then seven years (as in type at Gen. 7:10);

3. Tribulation Period of the "wrath of God" seven years against mankind will begin (Dan.11:36-39; Dan.12; Mt.24; John 3:36; Rev.11-14);

4. Return of Christ with His Bride –"Day of the Lord" near the end of the seven years of judgment (Mt. 24:21, 29-31; 1 Th. 5 – conquest on earth);

5. Destruction of enemies & beginning the Millennial Reign (Jude 14-15; 1 Th. 1:9-10);

6. Final judgment ---casting Satan and all non-believers into Hell, purging of the Earth with fire, & then a New Earth – "Day of God" (2 Pet. 3:12-13).

The fullness of events is recorded elsewhere, but this may suffice for an overview. Many professing Christians, who do not know the Word of God deny this, but rebellion is not the same as ignorance, so we all need to "search the Scripture" and pray as God says. A true "born again" believer will be taken up to Heaven whether he/she believes this or not, but that will then be to their loss at the "Judgment Seat Of Christ" for opposing the Word of God. All others who are not true to God and only professing Christians, will be left on the earth through the terrible tribulation time with much suffering and death. Real believers thereafter who have never known the Gospel of salvation may be saved, yet by martyrdom at great price.

One needs to be sure today that their soul is saved by faith in God’s beloved Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, and by receiving Him into their heart. – RLD

I'm not a Baptist but I am a Catholic. I hope you will welcome my post on this issue. I do believe we are living in the end times but I also acknowledge that I might be wrong about that since the Bible says that nobody knows the day or the hour.

May God bless all of my Baptist brothers and sisters in Christ. :wave:

Heart and your soul that Christ Jesus died
And was resurrected for your sins. Jesus is
The risen Savior and the only way that sin
Is forgiven through his shed Blood.

[9] Not of works, lest any man should boast.

There will be a time when the Earth ends because the sun will die out so the end of times is a scientific fact. I believe in this day and age it will happen a lot sooner because of the nuclear technology available as well as other things.

Do I believe in a so called anti-Christ? I can't say that I do because that sounds like something from a horror film.

Travisk, I can appreciate that one may not know the truth, but I urge you to be reading the Gospels and praying over them ---see John 1, John 3, and John 14 to see what God has for us, then trust Him as He says. Otherwise we just go on with our reasonings and miss God's "...so great salvation" as He says. Look up always!

Sorry to hear of the terrible storm in the Philipines, Travisk. Such storms are going to get worse all over the world, I expect, until the real big devastation hits during the Tribulation time as the Bible tells us. One needs to be thinking about their eternal soul.

Maybe it was not sent, but allowed to send a message as suggested. Certainly you can think whatever you wish, but remember you have an eternal soul that will dwell someplace ---think about it friend!

HOW HOPE MATTERS
Contemplating Judgment

If you walked on earth in heavenly hope
And was quite settled in your bliss;
What would it matter if death is the end
And you then left the world like this?

If you lived your days with faith in God's Son
And had peace and joy at the last;
Could it matter at all if hope should fail
And there's nothing when life is past?

If you disallow God, His love and truth
As the Bible truly does tell;
Should that matter now as you ponder life
If your end might sadly be hell?

If you miss heaven's joy and all that's good
And you find the Bible was true;
If you die so soon and know not God's Son,
What will it then matter to you?

- R. L. DeWitt, 5/12

I think there will be many anti-christ that come along. Most of them will be people of high positions saying stuff like its ok for two men to get married. But as far as the final anti-christ only the Lord knows that. But I do believe the way is being paved for him.

I believe there is a good chance I will live to see the end times, HOWEVER, I do not claim to know that for a fact as for the signs of the times while true we do not know how long those times will last it may be tomorrow in 100 or even 1000 years.

Christians have always thought the End Times would happen in their lifetime, since the beginning (early Christians especially, since Jesus said all these things will come to pass within this generation). I think it has to do with wishful thinking, more than actual evidence.

I can imagine Christians in the past who would think the end was coming, when a huge natural disaster would occur back then. Or if a great dictator rose to power. I mean, World War II passes all the checks.

But of course, the world kept turning. So are we right this time? Is this the real End Times? YES!!!

Just kidding. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. But as history and the Bible tells us, nobody knows when the End Times will come to pass. So we should stop spending energy on speculating, and spend it on being good Christians.

There has always been bad storms though. Part of the reason this one was so bad (other than it was exceptionally bad) is the lack of being prepared. The government doesn't care and the people are uneducated. I don't think it was sent by God or anything like that.
How then do you deal with these verses from Jesus in Matthew 5:
44 But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? (ESV, emphasis added)
We have our share of devastating cyclones Down Under in the land of Oz.

Sincerely,
OzSpen
