  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I'm not a member of a emerging church.
I like them because of their openness to ask new questions and their openness to new answers that serve people more than some of the old answers.
I do have a problem with taking old stories and translation them into today's world as if that also brings all the truth from the past into the present.
I do see weakness with modernity that many of those attacking the emergent church ignore as if everything is OK. I once heard a talk that put forth the thought that conservatism and liberalism are a result of modernism. It made sense to me so its not one of my working views of who the current world works. So I don't ever expect one of them to win. An emergent, post modern world may provide a way out of that fight but its still to early to know if a new way of thought will be better or worse than the current fight between liberals and conservatives.
