  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It's one of those things where you could decide either way. The bible forbids sodomy (but how that applies to married heterosexul christians is debated). Then there is a verse that says the marriage bed is undefiled. I would say to use your conscience on the matter.

I have to second Dave on this issue.

Given that the Bible doesn't come out and condemn anal sex in marriage, it should probably be something that you and your husband spend some time praying about. Untimately, if either of you feel uncomfortable with the prospect, then that should be the end to the discussion. All sex should be entered into comfortably and with love.

I may be new, but don't worry about offending me^_^ !! Until a couple of days ago, I was dead set against it. The reason being, I didn't want to sin. If it is not going against God, then I don't think I would have a problem with it. By no means would my hubby force it upon me, so I want to clarify that! Thanks for your replies.

The Bible forbids sodomy, and while our contemporary definition of sodomy includes anal and oral sex, Biblically, sodomy was sex practiced by Sodomites (people of Sodom). We often use the story of Sodom and Gomorrah to prove the sinfulness of homosexual sex, and as such, I find it difficult to then use that story (and the contemporary use of a word stemming from it) to condemn anal or oral sex within a heterosexual marriage.

If it's something you would both like to try, I suggest reading up on it first, and certainly taking it slow. If you want to talk more about specifics, feel free to PM me.

As others have said, it isn't addressed in the bible per se, however, I think we need to consider what God intended our specific body parts for, and what health implications there are, before making a decision.

Personally that thought process has led me to the conclusion that it is not what God intended when he created man/wife and sex. But this is very much up to the individual couple involved.

The Bible's only reference to sodomy is in reference to the practice of the Sodomites. It included homosexual sins including gang rape.

This is further expanded upon in Ezekiel 16:49-50 where the sins are defined as "arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy", and in the epistle of Jude, where Jude qualifies the sins of the Sodomites to be "sexually immoral and perverted". (Jude 7).

Nowhere does the Bible use sodomy in any other terms.

Therefore, one can only come to the conclusion that it is up to your own discretion, and it is something that BOTH must agree upon.

The only thing I can thing of is you may want to bring up the issue of natural use.

I didn't see this posted anywhere, am I missing something?
Thanks to everyone for your replies, it has helped a lot.

I believe that the post that stated that a wife had to obey her husband on this matter was removed. You probably noticed a couple posts by those of us who strongly disagreed with this statement but the original post appears to have been deleted.
