I believe EGW was a sincere Christian who truly loved the L-rd but she was NOT a prophet.

NONE of her predections have come true. Just one failed prophecy is enough to disqualify one as a prophet by Bible standards.

EGW predicted at a meeting in 1856 in Battle Creek, MI that some of the people there would be alive and transalted when Y'shua returns. Hmmmmm the YOUNGEST baby at that meeting has been dead for more than 50 years now.

EGW predicted in 1895 that slavery would be reinstituted in the US. NEVER happened.

EGW predicted during the US Civil War that Britain would attack the US and "humble it into the dust". While Britain did have troops stationed across the river from Detroit, ready to take Michigan back if the Union lost, the Union won and Britain never did attack.

I could go on and on all day long.

Ellen White had a medical condition caused by being hit in the face with a rock at age 9. Many physicians who attended her, some of whom were SDA themselves believed her "visions" were caused by her medical condition(I concur). (Note is is NOT a personal attack on someone to say they had a medical condition.)
A good source to read about this is the book, "Prophetess of Health" by Dr. Ronald Numbers. I believe you can find it online.

G-d Bless.

Shalom,

In Febuary of 1845 she had a vision(message from God) telling her that salvation was no longer available to those who did not accept William Millers Vision, called the shut door vision.

That by itself would be enough to disqualify her as a prophet.

How do you know that Daniel, Joel, John the Baptist, etc were prophets?
Because I trust the Bible. I don't have a second 'authoritative source for truth'. Have you ever considered why her writings are 17 times more volumous than God's Word? It begs the question which one is more authoritative in the SDA church. Why is the Bible not enough?

In CHRIST alone...

How do you know that Daniel, Joel, John the Baptist, etc were prophets?

Because the Bible tells me so.

Daniel and Joel's writings are CANON. As are John the Revelator's, Isaiah's, etc. The Torah was given to Moshe from the mouth of G-d. It IS canon.

None of Ellen White's writings are canon and she had a medical condition which was likely the cause of her "visions".

The Bible prophets were given their words by G-d.
Their predictions came to pass.

None of the Bible prophets saw "tall, majestic people" living on Jupiter.

None of the Bible prophets had a "vision" about the door of salvation being shut to those who would not follow William Miller, who disobeyed the very Words of Y'shua when he tried to set a date for His return.

Just the truth here in love but with no sugarcoating.
It is what it is.

G-d Bless.

I did a quick search of EGW writings - only 15 references to Jupiter. Mostly having to do with the Greek god Jupiter and not the planet.

Volume 1 of her biography page 113:
The Spirit of God rested upon us in Brother C.'s humble
dwelling, and I was wrapt in a vision of God's glory, and for the
first time had a view of other planets. After I came out of vision I
related what I had seen.--Ibid., p. 239. {1BIO 113.2}
Actually, during the vision, wholly unbeknown to her, she spoke of what was passing before her. J. N. Loughborough recounted in print the description of the meeting as Bates told it to him: {1BIO 113.3}
Mrs. White, while in vision, began to talk about the stars,
giving a glowing description of rosy-tinted belts which she saw
across the surface of some planet, and added, "I see four
moons." {1BIO 113.4}

"Oh," said Elder Bates, "she is viewing Jupiter!"
Then having made motions as though traveling through
space, she began giving a description of belts and rings in their
ever-varying beauty, and said, "I see seven moons." {1BIO 113.5}
Elder Bates exclaimed, "She is describing Saturn." {1BIO 113.6}
Next came the description of Uranus, with its six moons; then
a wonderful description of the "opening heavens," with its
glory, calling it an opening into a region more enlightened. Elder
Bates said that her description far surpassed any account of the
opening heavens he had ever read from any author. {1BIO 113.7}
