Name: Edward Woolington
Given Name: "Bully"
Height: 7'4"
Weight: 312 lbs.
Age: 21
Background:
Edward passed kindergarten with ease, but in first grade he lost interest in his studies, shirking classwork to bully his smaller classmates. Although he was kept after school many times, he stayed just below the suspension level, and barely squeaked by.
Second grade was another story. He flunked, repeatedly. After he had been held back two years (with three suspensions in the process), his parents got involved, bullying the school board with their considerable social clout into letting their son pass.
The school board passed him one year "so that he wouldn't get left behind," then began pressuring the teachers to pass him. As his classes became easier, his parents pressured him to at least do the bare minimum, and he began passing again - but by this time he was considerably larger than his classmates, and could bully most of them.
Despite his teachers' best efforts, he flunked fourth grade, then seventh grade. At this point his classmates began to hit puberty, and he struggled to stay ahead, spending long hours in the weight rooms. Fortunately he was of a tall, stocky build, and kept his lead, helped along by the fact that no student dared match him for skipping classes. About this time, he decided that his real name sounded too wimpy, and accepted a nickname that had been meant as an epithet - "bully." By the end of middle school, anyone who called him "Edward" was in for a beating - except his mother.
Upon reaching ninth grade, "Bully" found that there was no one left to threaten him. While in middle school he had feared the wrath of the seven-foot tall gym teacher "Mr. Bellshin," in high school he was a head taller and six inches wider at the shoulders than any teacher or student. So he began to relax. Whereas in elementary and middle school he would always threaten potential tattlers with his fist, in high school it was merely a given: you don't mess with "Bully." No more watching his back, no more effort of any kind - he was king.
And he flunked again.
In his second year of ninth grade, Bully took on the air of the benevolent dictator, honoring his subjects by doing his homework sometimes and coming to class fairly often. He reached an unspoken agreement with his teachers: he would take the time to answer every question with something dumb and predictable, and they would make enough questions dumb and predictable that he would pass. Thus he made his way from ninth grade to tenth.
Abilities:
Edward ("Bully") is big and strong, with the ability to patiently endure anything he considers necessary. He is not intelligent by most measures, but he has a confidence that few bullies possess.
Edward has the ability to make any high school class easy, simply by attending it.
