Just for the heck of it, I went searching online last week for my divorce and I found it on eCourts for New York State. It was labeled as disposed and granted in early July this year. I emailed a copy of the webpage to my attorney. She said the paralegal informed her, as per the week prior, nothing had not been entered in the courts record room, and for me to wait for them to obtain the actual certified copy of the divorce judgment.
1. How come a website has the judgment and not the courts records department (outside from the usual bureaucratic slowness)?
2. More importantly, do you have any idea--ballpark time frame--how long before the actual judgment is issued (since it is already on the web.)
Thanks!
