  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hey all. I have been absent from the forum for a number of months now, but I am back to tell you what has been going on with me and what I have been doing.

I am no longer volunteering, but I have been busy going to church and writing. I volunteered for 1 1/2 years at a mental health clinic, and started to volunteer at another mental health organization, but I went into the emergency room and had to quit, but that's another story.

I have been keeping a journal every day. In my journal, I talk about my disappointments not finding a job down my educational alley, being disabled on government assistance, and not getting married. I won't go into much depth about all of that, since this is just a place to hang out and chat, but I just wanted to say that I have been going through a period of metamorphosis.

In 2012, as of course I told you, I self-published my first novel. Last year, I uploaded another novel and three novellas onto a prominent e-book website and they have gotten thousands of downloads. I submitted a poetry chapbook into a chapbook contest with a press, but I didn't win. I then submitted it to another free e-book website, along with a series of children's books, and a Christian children's story my mother used to tell me.

I found a great church just down the road, within walking distance of where I live, and they are very positive, energetic people. Mostly I have been going to church with my mother, and she lives in the city just south of where I live. I am going with her tomorrow morning, and then we're going to go out to a restaurant. My father has been in another state for the last three months visiting my brother, his wife, and their five children. He has been helping homeschool the younger ones, and he has also been researching our family history and writing a book.

I just wanted to share with you all that I am very excited about Easter tomorrow, and I am beginning to see so much hope when there was so much storm. Easter is about the resurrection of Jesus and about being reborn, about life and about hope. I used to wear an Easter bonnet growing up going to church. I don't do that anymore, mostly because it seems to have gone out of fashion. We would wear our pretty, vibrant dresses, sing hymns, and listen to the sermon. We would socialize for a bit and then have a mid-day dinner after an Easter Egg hunt (which was just a bunch of jelly bellies hidden throughout the house), and look at our Easter baskets. One Easter my parents gave me two bunnies: one for Easter, and one for my birthday, which is in April. I so much enjoy the memories about having fun together as a church and as a family, and I look forward to more times like that. I am very excited about the holiday tomorrow, I wish you all blessings and a happy day tomorrow, and have a great Saturday and Saturday night, for those of you who go to Easter Vigil, and HAVE A HAPPY EASTER!
