Early ECFs and Queen/Babylon in Revelation

What are the differences in views between the Orthodox and RCs on that Great City in Revelation? I am sure Protestants view it differently than either of those Denominations I believe. Just curious.

Luke 19:41 And as He nears, beholding the City and He laments on Her,

Reve 18:9 and shall be lamenting and shall be wailing over Her the kings of the land, the ones with her fornicating and indulging, whenever they may be observing the smoke of the fireing of Her

So there is little to almost nothing written about that Queen in Revelation before the Bible was put together?

Revelation written AD 67, after Antipas martyred in AD 66 (Josephus);
5 fallen (#s 1-5), one is (Pagan Rome), one to come (Eastern Roman Empire).

8th Head = Spiritual Babylon.

Babylon fell (Rev 18.2) in One Day (18.8), in One Hour (18.10).

Ond Day from battle of Magenta, June 4, 1859 to May 1860, and battle of Two Sicilies with Garibaldi and his "thousand redshirts" winning.

One Hour, September 20, 1870, "Papacy and Pope Pius IX run out of Rome." Pope Pius declared himself. "The prisoner of the Vatican."

The Pope is still, "The Prisoner of the Vatican."

These three battles are recorded in all encyclopedias; see: "Italy."

They are also recorded in Millennial Bible Commentaries; William Hurte, 1889; B.W. Johnson, 1891; Henry H, Halley, 1945.

But all truth has been banned by the Ecumenical Movement since 1948.

Thanks but I was looking more for early ECFs before the 4th or 5th Century. I have my own "Jewish" view on that "queen". Thanks for the response though.

Even though Revelation was not canonized until about the 4th century, who is not to say that it was not being read in the 1st or 2nd century? Why is now Christianity so enamored in this book? Perhaps it would have been best if the early church would have just "dumped it" as much good as it does today. Thoughts?

The Great City is Rome, also know as the "City of the Seven Hills." The names of blasphemy upon each one was a pagan god name.

Ok thks JtC. I disagree with his commentary on the 1000yr period as my view is, after the last bowl is poured out in Revelation 16, it is ALL Finished....Kaput......Nothing left.
I view Armegeddon and Gog-magon as one and the same event, also I see OC Jerusalem as the "Harlot" not "Rome"
Revelation is also HORRIBLY translated in my vew

But you may be able to view Revelation in ways you have not considered by reading his work.
