I used e-Sword for years and loved it...but switched over to Bible Software theWord!. Other than the nag screen it's perfect. Easy to create modules for, with the converter, any RTF can be converted into a module. Once the module is created, it can still be edited too. Somewhere along the way e-Sword slowed down, theWord is fast program. Sorry to steal thunder from e-Sword, which is an amazing program.

I have used the The Word and it is a fine program, I highly recommend it. When I use a Bible program I just want the Bible and the ability to search, cut and paste offline. E-Sword works for me.

Ok, I'm using theWord now. Thanks AW for the tips. My screen now looks like E-Sword with a larger font.

Latest theWord Downloads, Modules, Utilities, and News has a ton of amazing modules. I couldn't tell you how many Reformed/Calvinistic Baptist modules because there are so many. Doing a search on the word "Baptist" brings up 88 results: Baptist Results

Also a great deal of resources here: Reformed Works « theWord Modules Library including Don Fortner's works. The site author however, though a Baptist, makes the comment: "This bookshelf is dedicated to Calvinist-Reformed authors. Note that I do not make any distinction between these two concepts (Calvinist and Reformed), nor do I identify or separate “hyper-Calvinism” from normal Calvinism. I do not see any difference between them except one of degree of dedication to the Doctrines of Grace. One person may classify a particular author or work as Hyper-calvinist while another may classify the same author or work as mainline Calvinism. It would be extremely difficult and time consuming to first discern, and then to separate this works, and I would be constantly defending every decision I made probably." Oh well, still many great Calvinist resources there.

AW, do you spend a lot of time reading in theWord program?

It varies really, I have at times, depends. The more great resources the more reasons to read.

Btw, I suspect you already did, but don't forget to add John Gill's commentary, Matthew Henry, Treasury of David, Jamieson, Fausett, Brown, and Matthew Poole: The Word Library | Module add-ons: Commentaries

The New Testament Outlines and Introductions are by Daniel Wallace. Word Studies and Pictures are great too!

When I am reading Scripture, or looking for answers to a difficult passage, I find it helpful to be able to read from several commentaries. Of course I pass over the dispensational interpreters.

I loved theWord so much, that I actually purchased the NKJV module some time ago. I love Logos too (mostly for the exclusive resources and searching them), but it's slow (though older versions were fast) and not as user friendly and can be overwhelming with resources.
