Well... NightEternal's thread really went pearshaped, but I thought he had a very good question and I would really like to see the responses to what he had to say, especially from adventists who reject EGW.
So if these supernatural phenomena did indeed occur which from the eyewitness reports I think would be foolish to deny. Then you have to ask the question what were they?
Medical or faking? - Then Adventism is a Joke having been largely influenced by a false prophet - This could really only have been Satanic with deception of that Magnitude, considering the weight that adventism has given to EGW's writings.
Demonic? - Then the early adventists and the majority of adventists have put their faith in and have been influenced by a false prophet possessed by a demon. Really making Adventism a farce.
Divine - Then you would be foolish to reject her advice.
The way I see it after thinking about this is, Adventism has a big black ugly cancer eating away at it's core if EGW is anything other than a true prophet inpired by God.
NightEternal said:What I want to know is how do you explain the supernatural aspect of this whole issue? Putting aside the plagiarism, the unfulfilled prophecies, the outrageous, embarassing statements, the false medical, historical and theological claims, the brutal treatment of those who disagreed with her, how do you reconcile the supernatural phenomena that acompanied her visions?![]()
It seems there are only 4 options available:
1.) Divine supernatural power
2.) Satanic supernatural power
3.) Medical explanations
4.) She faked it
