  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

E. coli scare prompts beef recall in 11 states

http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/05/18/meat.recall.ap/index.html
CHICAGO, Illinois (AP)
-- A Chicago-based company is recalling beef products distributed in 11 states because of possible E. coli contamination, federal officials say.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture said Friday that no illnesses have been reported from the meat, produced by JSM Meat Holdings Co. The agency was uncertain how much meat is being recalled.
The meat being recalled is used in ground beef products. Included are 30-pound and 60-pound boxes and 47-gallon barrels of "MORREALE MEAT" beef products.
Don't Miss

The products have the number "EST. 6872" inside the USDA mark of inspection.
The products have 15 different labels including, "Boneless Chucks," "Boneless Clods," "Flat Rounds," "Gooseneck Rounds" and "Knuckle."
A message left for a company spokesman after business hours wasn't immediately returned.
The states affected are Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
E. coli, a potentially deadly bacteria, can cause diarrhea, dehydration and kidney failure.
