The title is a bit misleading, some may cry foul but hopefully it works
. No right or wrong answers, just so they at least get close to the parameters.
I am interested in the harmony and relationship between the OT and NT; in particular the idea finding direct or indirect relationships between the two in which time may be allowed to change (e.g. past becomes present and any other combination), thereby creating a new interpretation and relationship between a subject in the OT and the NT. Joseph and Jesus may be an example of this, however, this is more along the lines of an archetype and not of direct interaction or indirect influence (i.e. Joseph didn't necessarily influence Jesus to pick 12 disciples.). To use this example loosely, we could say from the perspective of Jesus' time that past became present and from Joseph's time the future became present.
Some of the categories: (Definition of 'subjects' here is Person/people, from scripture [book, chapter, verse], or an event.)
1. Direct/Indirect Interaction- Subjects from OT and NT bridge time and are conversing to one another or this is implied.
2. Direct/Indirect Influence- Subjects from OT and NT bridge time and influence to cause a change to one and/or another's respective time or this is implied.
3. Verse Transplanting- Takes a verse (or passage) from OT and NT to be applied elsewhere which fills a gap in time allowing for more continuity or to simply enhance another verse.
All that is required is to establish some correlation between the two (e.g. Joseph with 12 brothers and Jesus with 12 disciples.). Again, this is really simply for discovery and fun, so please don't take it too seriously.
Thanks!
