Dwelling Place
Psalm 90:1-2... Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations. Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
What does dwelling place mean to you? What does it mean to dwell in the Lord?
Many seem to beg God's help in prayer when in need. They seek the Lord only in a storm, usually as a last resort. To 'dwell' seems to imply more than going to the Lord now and then when a need arises. Dwelling implies living, life, a daily coming to the Lord - with both good and bad.
The Lord as our dwelling place, our refuge, our safety, our life is a wonderful idea. The Lord is our dwelling place, not the earth, not heaven, not paradise, but simply the Lord himself! How long has this, or will this be true? Look at vs 2! From before the mountains were born, from everlasting to everlasting. The Lord as our dwelling place offers each of us eternal life.
John 15:14-15... Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
Psalm 91:1-2... He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.
___________
Thank You Lord that You are our dwelling place, our refuge, our strength. Show each of us how to abide in You, continue to let our trust in the Lord grow. Thank You for a dwelling place that is from everlasting to everlasting, eternal. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
