CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It is inconceivable to me how anyone could maintain an atheist worldview in the light of this. The cognitive dissonance must be so overwhelming that Spiritual blinders are sought, and defended against all opposition.

I expected it, actually. No man has seen God at any time. None of us "know" Him, in the sense of knowing that 2 + 2 = 4. Whatever we may know of Him, it is put into perspective very well by the vid in the OP.

Sorry about the strawman, if it was one, but it just seems to me that those who claim to have the correct interpretation of the bible claims to know god.
But really, "And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend." seems kinda straight forward.

Indeed. I simply couldn't believe how close, yet how far away, it is between seeing and not seeing. The same situation is also clearly described in Zen. A person could be "blind" for decades, but started to "see" in a second. It is real amazing.

The term, is "fellowship of the Spirit." The maker of all that is, seen and unseen, can impart specific knowledge we wouldn't know any other way. Like when John the Baptist lept in his Mother's womb, just from the sound of the voice of Jesus' Mother.
The Lord knows them that are His. And sometimes it's even unmistakable to you

No. a "filter" of any kind won't work. It should be a special connection. It takes a short circuit to make it happen. I see what you see, but you don't see what I see. It is a special brain function. (I guess you know that we only understand less than 10% of our brains)
