Dune & Children of Dune

Anyone seen these two miniseries (2000 and 2003) and what did you think? I personally thought they were extremely well done.

I've only seen Dune, haven't had a chance to pick up Children. But I loved Dune, I always thought David Lynchs version was a bit off, not a big fan of any of his movies to be honest, something about watching a movie for 2.5 hours and not knowing anything that went on always turns me off.

I did think Dune was well done, I'm not sure what type of budget they had, probably nothing in comparison to major hollywood movies, but it was still well done and had some great effects.

I always hear bad things about the mini series so I never really gave it a try, but I think I'll check it out. I started reading the book and I stopped cuz it was all just kinda confusing for me, and I tried watching the movie but it looked retarded. Maybe the shows will clear things up

I watched the original Dune, and didn't really care for it. But my stepdad rented Children of Dune one day, and I watched it, and it was really good. Long as hell, but damn good.

Though you definitely have to watch Dune first, otherwise you'll confused as hell.

The Dune miniseries, if I'm thinking of the same one, was like watching some kind of weird portrayal of Islam. Did anyone else get that feeling?
