How does the doctor know your due date...

Doesn't the doctor ask you when you think the baby was conceived... what if you had sex 4 days that week and 3 days the week before and you aren't sure exactly when?

i know this is a stupid question, but im curious how they figure all this stuff out...

It's worked out from the date of your last period, pregnancy doesn't start at conception but in the ovaries when an egg reaches maturity and is released from the ovaries and travels down the fallopian tube.

so the doctor will ask when i hd my last period not when we last had sex, right?

They went by the first day of my last period, which was January 17th, which makes my due date October 24th. The baby measured at an 11/02 due date but that's because you can get pregnant anytime during that cycle...or almost depending on when you ovulate etc.

Conceptation date is just a guess, unless you only have sex once during your period and know for sure. They guessed mine at January 30th...I honestly don't know if it could have been or not.

Yes, like they said they base it from the first day of your last period--which is a good thing since I'm not going to chart when all I have sex, somehow that just takes the fun out it for me....

I agree. I would never write down the days we have sex...talk about killing the mood. Just because sex has a added purpose when TTC doesn't mean it's got to become mechanical.
