  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Maybe because absolutely never sinning ever again is not what is meant in Scripture by "willful sin."

All things must be understood in context.

The idea/claim that Christians are perfect in every way, and never make mistakes or mess up, has, unfortunately done some of the most serious damage to the Gospel.

The reason being, that everyone knows it's hypocritical to say that we never sin. Therefore, once a Christian suggests that, often no one wants to hear anything else they have to say.

BTW, I was saved in 1977! I was healed in the hospital by Jesus and was given my prayer language a day later. We began attending a local Pentecostal church and still have friends from there to this day.

I totally agree with you about the power of the Spirit. People talk about sin and works ad infinitum instead of living by the power of the Holy Spirit.

OrthodoxyUSA,

Okay, I am a bit surprised. I thought that someone who is Eastern Orthodox would claim someone who Eusebius named as an early bishop of Antioch who was associated with John and Polycarp.

Is that right. What was the name again? Ill go check the bishopric at Antioch.

Forgive me...
