I just got through reading Driven By Eternity by John Bevere. Has anyone else read this?
I am a bit confused on how much I agree with his ideas in this book. I respect John Bevere greatly. I've seen him speak, read many of his book and listened to hours of audio. However his views in this book I cant say I agree with.
The Basics for those who dont know.
1)We were all put here for a reason, by god with a path before us.
2)On our journey through life God already knows who we will have a chance to bring to accept Jesus.
3)How faithful we are and how well we listen to the spirit will controll whether we reach the people god has planned for.
4)If we fail to follow out the plan, god will put someone else to complete the task.
5)When we die we stand before The Lord to account for our life.
6)God will know how many people we were planned to reach on our journey on earth, this will be the main thing we are judged on.
7)He states heaven will be a CLASS system. THose who served mighty will be placed closest to God. The ones furthest from God, will be those who were wishy washy Christians here on earth. He does go on to say that everyone will be grateful to be in heaven. We will be uncapable to feel jealousy as we do in our human bodies.
8)In heaven we will all be in the image of a 33 year old. The age of Jesus when he was crucified.
9)Pastors, priest, and men of god will be the most harshly Judged. They will have to account for every person they led astray by false teachings.
10)Even if you were the victom of false teachings, to bad, your going to hell.
11) He views heaven as a physical place. We will have houses (those closest to God will have the nicest houses), Jobs and even roads made of gold . He didnt mention anything about computers, sorry
THere is more, that's just some of the points I remember off the top of my head. He does back it all up by scripture, but I don't think some of his translations are accurate.
Over all its a good book that made some great points that makes you evaluate the type of CHristian you are. The over all message is, always ask if you are pleasing Jesus.
