Gonna butcher this, but I'll try.
A man was walking along a beach and as he walked he saw many starfish that had been washed up by the tide, and with the tide going back out, would surely dry up in the sun. A little while later he came upon two boys throwing starfish one by one back into the water. The man was puzzled at the efforts of these two boys. How could these two boys possibly make a difference with all of these starfish? He decided to ask.
"Why are you doing this? You can't possible make a difference!"
One of the boys calmly tossed another starfish into the water and said "it made a difference to that one".
With that the man picked up a starfish and tossed it into the sea.
