• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

hi, im worried beacuse when i was younger i got a tattoo of a dragon on my back. i love the way dragns look and into fatasy so i didnt asociate dragons with evil. now i realised it was wrong and that i have defiled the body god gave me, and that my body is not my own and belongs to god. will god forgive this? will he only forgive if the tattoo is removed, which i do not think is possible because it is really deep. also because it is a dragon does it make it worse? in revelations it says about people who carry the 'mark of the beast' and the beast is described as a dragon. does that mean i am permanetly marked by the devil? will i be dammed forever?

Carve your whole body with marks of the devil if you like, God will only review your actions of love and how you helped others. Even if you carved the number 666 on your forehead, God still loves you. Are you suprised? Gods love for you is far more then you have ever imagined.

Recommended? Of course no Christian would recommend you do such a thing, still its a 'human' way of thinking that a body image could send you to hell.

You never had the intention with that Dragon to worship the devil. And even if you had intentions to worship the devil with a tattoo your body gets discarded at the grave, and your soul will move on in the spiritual world. God will have known what actions (usually misunderstandings about God) would have led you towards those sinfull actions, and STILL God would love you, how could he not love you , for God is Love.

Often People discriminate others on looks, God is not like that. A tattoo? No problem.

I to got a rather large dragon when I was not so smart. I wish that it were gone, but I know that God has forgiven me for it. I do keep it covered so as not to bring any attention to it, but for now that is all I can do. Don't sweat it. God forgives you.

so is it ok to like dragons? i love fantasy imagery? do you like dragons too?

I have had to personally walk away from these kinds of things because the remind me of my past. I don't think you can set in stone weather or not these kinds of things are ok. I would suggest that you pray on it and consider how what you do affects your relationship with God.

Hi, There are a lot of Christians who have tatoos and get them as Christians.

When I think of a dragon, I am just glad they aren't around today.lol But there is nothing wrong with it.

Forgive yourself, and give your life and trust to God.

He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

The Holy Spirit is in you, and you have a great heart.

God bless you for asking on this matter. Tapero

I get the feeling you're not being serious, but just in case...

I'm not a Christian but there are many Christians who find nothing wrong with getting a tattoo.

Even among those that do think it's a sin, the sin is in getting the tattoo and not having a tattoo. Don't fret about it. If it bugs you that much, see about getting it removed and if it bugs other people, cover it up.

Jesus taught it is what is on the inside which defiles a man. God is NOT going to damn you to hell for having a tatoo. it is the heart He looks upon not the outside. if you have Jesus as you saviour and are born again, a tatoo you got before becoming a christian will not condemn you. if you are being told this then it is a lie. it is sin which condemns a person not a tatoo

It is good to see that you have regrets for ever having got that tattoo God knows your heart and from what you say I dont think you have anything to be concerned about. It would be a different thing however if you bragged about it , showed everybody and became an influence in other people also getting tattoos . In other words you have eradicated the spiritual influence of it even though the physical remains . I believe in what Jesus would have said. -"neither do I condemn you -go sin no more"
