Ok, there are times when the show seems just so juvenile, simple, stupid, then there are times when it is genuienly pure genius. Anyone willing to agree with me on that? I was so unwilling to like the show, then my kids grew up and wanted to watch it. I relented and now we're all hooked.

I found this one bit interesting... When the Dr called back the aliens looking for prisoner zero. He asked them if the inhabitants of planet earth had broken any of their (the alien's) laws deserving of death and destruction. It made me think 'Yeah, but even if they had, do we answer to their laws? And even if we did, how were we to know those laws?' Made me think of God, and us, and our broken relationship with Him, His laws which we break all the time... Deep thoughts... lol.

Anyway, I totally wasnt sure about this Dr. I mean, he just ... looks wierd. But already he's grown on me. I saw they were bringing back the 'Weeping Angels' as me and my kids call them... they were our favourite alien (and my fave episode)...

If Im honest, I think we were spoilt with David Tenant as the Dr. He left a lot to live up to...

I know I need to get a life, but... well anyway. Im a reluctant (closet... massive Dr who fan... and dh is coming so I gotta go!!!!)

I felt that way when Tom Baker left and Peter davison took over.
I don't really want to get into the story arc at present because there are a lot of people here from other countries that haven't seen it yet and it could ruin it for them.

America doesn't get their screening until April 17th and Australia 18th April.

Well, that was a bit before my time.. Dh said the same thing (he's around your age... me, Im a spring chicken actually... compared)
Sometimes I wish I was a Time Lord/Lady...I envy The Doctor being over 900 years old and he looks younger as he grows older. Not fair!!!

Hope the next 8 days goes really fast for you Cynthia.

Lol, I just started watching the series. Seriously, Planet of the Dead was the first one I ever saw and I loved it! I was terribly sad when I found out that Mr.Tennant would no longer be the doctor. It was like finding your soul mate, then having them die the next day *sigh*

So I'm looking forward to seeing the next season. I'm going through Doctor-withdrawl.

the new doctor who's ok... Matt smith doesn't really say "I'm THE doctor" for me though. however, he does have a bunch more eps to prove himself to be THE DOCTOR.

Oh, already saw ep. 3 'victory of the daleks' ... my only thought ... GO GO DALEK RANGERS!

I have to say that I was honestly not prepared to like Matt Smith as the Doctor, but I wanted to give it a chance because Moffat, the new director, has always been one of my favorite writers for the show.

I'm glad I gave it a shot, because, while I don't think Matt Smith will beat out Tennant or Baker for my favorite Doctors, he is definitely a breath of fresh air in a show that was steadily becoming one long angst-fest. I like a show that can make me attached the characters enough to cry for their pain, but not a show that makes me sob and breaks my heart every other episode.

Personally I'm just glad RTD stepped down as director. I wouldn't have watched if he hadn't because I've decided to boycott him. Any Torchwood fan will know why.

Amy is wonderful, I think she may actually become my favorite for this new series, even over Rose, which I never thought would happen.

Anyway, that's about it for my opinion.

Yk, We've watched a couple of episodes so far and no matter how hard I try I just cant get used to the new Dr. To me, it doesnt seem like it was as smooth a transition, for the viewers (or this viewer) from David Tennant to Matt Smith. It just feels like a whole new show altogether. Everything is just so different. Im finding it difficult to connect this Dr with the previous. Maybe we were spoiled with David Tennant or something, idk. Also, you guys tell me what you think when you see the Weeping Angels episodes. The first time we meet the Weeping Angels was the best episode of Dr who imho. These episodes just didnt do it for me, I was disappointed. I still like the show, but its just taking a bit to get used to, I felt like it was a bit of an anticlimax, and a bit like the new Dr is a bit too contrived. Maybe it'll just take a bit more time to get used to it all.
