Hi, this is my first post here.

I was browsing through the talk.origins newsgroup when someone requested links to creationism parody sites. Someone else responded w/ a link to drdino.com.

Having only glanced through the site, I was wondering if anyone else knows whether this is a legitimate creationism site or an anti-creationsim parody.

I ask because:
1. It looks way too complicated to be a parody site.
2. There doesn't seem to be a lot of humor on it. I kept looking for punchlines to the articles, but haven't found any.

So I was just curious as to whether or not anyone else has read this website.

Thanks for the tips.

oh it is legitimate alright. And we know that website very well here. I suggest you do a search for Kent Hovind or DrDino, you will get lots of results. a google search will also return lots of results as well. notice also that the DrDino site has several of his seminars available for download, where you can actually see him trotting out his mistruths infront of crowds of people.

I disagree, the science is too stupid to be a good parody.
Isn't it just TO TRUE to the Creationist view?

it's like this one time i watched a 'wo-tang clan' video, thinking it was a parity of rap music... when infact it was just TO TRUE to the rap culture.

IMO, the 'us against them' mentality fostered by the fundamentalist organisations that in order to create greater loyalty merges atheism, evolution, abiogenesis and cosmology into one homogenised evil enemy that faces off against the good, righteous creationist True Christians (TM)

obfuscation and a strawman.

The intent is to confuse evolution with something else, and then point out that we don't/can't know alot/anything about that something else, and hence it follows that evolution can't be right either. It is for the same reason that they stick the origin of the Big Bang "singularity" in with the whole Big Bang model.

I've visited this site from time to time, some of the things I've read have left me in stitches at times and other times left me feeling like I was going to hell for reading it.

If you guys want a well done (though obvious parody if you start checking details) Creationist parody site check out the Creation Science Fair site. I mean Richard Paley come on! I can't believe so many people at skeptic and atheist sites were taken in by this.*

* I speak from experience, at least 3 threads were stared in the Randi.org forum asking of people thought it was a parody or not.

I was kind of disappointed when I found out it wasn't real. Although, creationists do have that museum whih is probably just as bad as that parody website.

I live about an hour from Carl Baugh's Creation museum and have as yet, over the last 12 years, summoned up enough interest to drive there and check it out. Neither have I summoned up enough interest to travel to Southfork Ranch, which is 20 minutes away...

...but places dedicated to fictitious history aren't very interesting to me whatever the spin may be.
