The point that Trump was trying to make is that Canada has become so dependant on the United States for its survival that it may as well be a state. Hence "Govenor Trudeau." Trump was just exposing the reality Canada's position on the world stage, and Trump has been proven correct. At some point I assume the usual sources will make up something about how this plan to tank the stock market is brilliant, but for now I guess we have to try and demonize the people correctly identifying the link between Trump's policy goals and trillions of dollars of losses.
