Wow, I didn't realize it was cracked that fast.
I agree with you 100% though!! All of those things are very anti-consumerist practices. It's terrible. If I had to guess the representatives from companies like Denuvo sell the "idea" of how great their anti cheat, and anti tamper software is, and the financial backers who are likely older, and/or probably don't play many games end up getting sold on the idea that Denuvo will help to secure their investment. In reality we as players know that's not the case, and that it's a futile, and ridiculous attempt to secure their software.
As for the gambling mechanics, microtransactions, and loot boxes I also agree here. I typically don't like politicians (not to get political here as I realize the politics forums is that way --------->) to write legislation for things like this, BUT I agree. It's not only an anti-consumer practice, but it's ruining games, AND children shouldn't be subjected to gambling type mechanics at a young age in my opinion for the same reasons gambling is illegal for minors. I guess Doom Eternal isn't marketed toward minors as much, but the point still stands for the first two reasons I listed.
Also, I'll add that this isn't so surprising to me. This is Bethesda we're talking about here, and they along with EA are two of the most money hungry publishers in the PC gaming business today. So, I'm sorry to hear of your lost investment, but that's why I generally don't purchase their software anymore. They're a terrible company imo.
