March 09, 2004 - In an interview with GamePro, Vicarious Visions' CEO, Karthik Bala, confirmed that the Xbox version of Doom 3 will include a co-op mode. The mode will allow gamers to go through the entire single-player campaign with a buddy.

There was no mention if this feature would be split-screen or through Xbox Live (or both), but with Doom 3 scheduled to be one of the premier Xbox Live titles, we wouldn't be surprised to see some online co-op action.

Unfortunately, the PC version of Doom 3 will not contain this feature. We'll have more on this highly anticipated (and gorgeous!) game in the near future.

I was really excited about this feature, and i think its going to be great.

I am amazed xbox is getting somthing that pc isn't!

they dont know if it will be co-op on live, or system link, or split screen. but i think it will be split screen, mostly because pc isn't getting this feature. and i doubt it would be on live, for the same reason.

also, for those of you doubting this xbox version. yes. i said version. (its no ordanary port) loads of the game is being re-done, and re-coded, for the xbox. it seems that they want to give the xbox a really good game.

I hope it is a good game. Usually when they do "special recoding" for a consol version it means that scale it down so that a consol can run it. Levels are re-modelled and some deleated. Of course that was the trand in the past. Hopefully this will not be the case for DooM3.

But lets face it, most FPS's that ROCK on PC, then STINK on Consol. The main exceltion if of course Halo which reveresed this trend. ROCKS on the Xbox and was my reason for buying one, but somehow it STINKS TO HIGH HEAVEN on the PC.

Still what am I moaning about? I wont be buying it, or HL2 or UT2004 or Halo2 because I moved from the UK to a place in the world where apparently there are no jobs at all. But there are nice beaches so that's ok because that puts food on the table

well, there where some xbox screens, wich looked increadble! but i am sure there toning it down, so it will run proporly on the xbox. but they often dont do that at all, and that gives you laggy, and poor games. wich are usually just ports.

thats true, fps's are NO WHERE near as good on the xbox (or any consol), as they are on the pc. but...my pc is horrible...700mhz proccesor, with 16mb graphics card, and 256 mb of ram ....yes, its that bad. but i have a snazzy flat screen monitor

In my opinion, ss a former Doom player of the days of old I seriously think that Doom 3 will not hold up as being revolutionary nor as entertaining. It may have a pretty package but as the gameplay goes it's all the same FPS.
