  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The Gospel is good news, we should act like it and take that Gospel into the world and change the world by the preaching of the Gospel. The only way to change hearts and minds, the only way to change society is by God working through the preaching of His word.

Don't limit the Gospel to "gettin' folks saved," teach them to observe all things He has commanded us. Bring the Law of God to bear upon society and to bear upon our problems in this world. In classical confessional Reformed theology there are three uses of the Law 1) pedagogical/school master 2) civil and moral 3) normative, these categories are useful in understanding how to transform society, at the very least restrain evil.

Our Lord describe the Kingdom as growing slowly over time. It grows like a mustard seed and like leaven and His Kingdom will continue to grow until He returns.

God's Law or man's secular made-up atheistic law?

Yours in the Lord,
