  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

hehe these are funny

I have one: If you go to the movies (this one is mainly for the guys) don't hit your head on the glass window where you pay for the movie! It is pretty funny though ;) Watch out, there IS glass separating you and the ticket vendors ;)

Don't talk about old boyfriends or girlfriends

Don't be late

Call soon afterward, be it later that night or the next day

Do plan on meeting the parents

Don't go anywhere where there are lots of people your date doesn't know and leave him/her there alone for a second

Do tell him/her they look nice.

Two words...EYE CONTACT

As a guy, Don't expect her to pay.
You mean don't expect her to pay for you? Strangely, that happens to me more than I think it should.

She can pay for her own stuff I figure though. I don't generally buy girls drinks unless they would really appreciate them. That isn't often I'm sorry to say.

Hey Melissa, hitting your head on the glass at the ticket vender is a sweet idea! If it makes your date laugh, then it doesn't more good then bad!

Don't talk about old boyfriends or girlfriends
That's a pretty huge one usually.

Call soon afterward, be it later that night or the next day.

I'd wait a few days. I think that it's better to hang out with some buddies the for the next day or two. Otherwise, you'll be thinking to much about your new 'friend' and lose perspective on things.

Meeting the parents? Bad idea at first.:D I guess it depends on how old you are, but for someone in their 20s I think that it's a silly idea.

That's all awesome advice!!! May I add SMILE!

Smile lots while making eye contact. It totally works. Brushing up to your date with your arm a fair bit is a good idea too.

Umm, Don't stare at other girls when you are with her, well at least when she is looking at you. lol
That's the best time to stare at other girls! You get way more attention from your date that way!

Don't start a conversation by saying, "The first time I got arrested..."

Ugh, couldn't make that one up if I tried...I've got a real knack for picking the winners.

Don't become "all hands"- that's just desperate and tacky.
Agreed.

Here's another good one! Don't forget to wear pants.;)
Seriously, if you're on a date, try to dress about one level better than the crowd is where you're going. Not so much that you'll really stand out, but enough that you look like the most confident person there. That makes you look good. Plus, if you go somewhere else after, you'll already be dressed decently. For example, if you're going to a movie, dress so that you can get into a club or a nice resturant after. You'll be good looking and you won't embarass yourself if you go out after.

Well, that has been personal experience...it didn't happen to ME though hehe. It was pretty funny...you're staring off into space and waiting to get tickets then you turn around and he's rubbing his head saying "oh man that hurt I just hit my head on the glass"...what's funny is that he decided to tell me instead of just pretending nothing happened . It was hilarious. ^_^

You mean that is what that strange force field is that seems to be everywhere that I keep running into? But seriously don't make a pig of yourself by seeing how uncomfortable you can get your pants in a single sitting at an all you can eat buffet.

Don't tell her your entire past on the first date - that is just creepy!

Don't introduce her as your girlfriend if friends see you together on the night

Come in and say hello to her family/housemates when you pick her up - it's rude to just wait at the door (when I lived at home, that was the FIRST rule)...

Don't expect a kiss at the end - a hug shall suffice nicely...

Don't talk about how much your mum wants you married well!
