Still going to be 39 for a few more weeks, and as the big day approaches, it seems other people are more excited/bothered than I am. Did I miss something? Please don't tell me I actually have to turn 40 to find out!

I just turned 40 last week-- it was really no big deal.

It's no big deal turning 40, unless you have a sentimental wife who wants to make it one. Then, get out the wish list.

I turned 40 last year. I found that through most of my 30's I wasn't bothered until I hit 37 and thought "heck, I'm gonna be 40 soon". But the closer I got to the big day the less bothered I became about it. I treated as just another day - well I tried but my wife surprised me with a birthday trip to Rome. Right out of the blue, two days beforehand. So I enjoyed the holiday, loved Rome, left the UK as 39 and returned as 40.

Still, she turns 40 in a few years time so I'll get a chance to surprise her!

I only wished I'd have had the time to worry about it five years ago when I turned 40. It's not a big deal unless you make it one. Our time here is nothing compaired to what awaits us. So dont sweat the small stuff and enjoy your time here on Earth as you prepair to take one more lap aroud the Sun!
