  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I am but a humble serf in the British Empire, and as I stopped for tea at four, listening to the wireless, I began to have a muse. Later, as I watched the television, which was jolly spiffing, I heard the newscaster on the good-old BBC talking about you yankies. He mentioned Democrats who have a donkey for a symbol, and Republicans, who for some dashed strange reason, wish to be displayed as an elephant.

Would one of you kind chappies explain what is going on? Why are the democrats represented by a donkey, and why are the republicans represented by an elephant?

Its all jolly strange behavior for a British colony, what, what?

Toodle Pip.

[Afterthought: please, for the sake of my sanity realise that I am joking and answer the questions about animals.]

I am Libertarian. I want my own animal.
Have you not heard? The penguin is catching on quickly, though it is by no means national:

I've also heard the skunk thrown around, since skunks just want to be left alone and raise quite a stink when someone messes with that, but that idea's never got very far.

Personally I'm a fan of the turkey, harkening back to Franklin's original proposal for a national bird.
