  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

From another forum:

Christians talk quite a bit about doing the Lord's work. Ignoring for the moment why humans believe that they have a responsibility to do the Lord's work instead of their own work, what do you consider to be this "the Lord's work" that we are supposed to be doing?

Does this mean that the Lord had no work to be done before "sin" entered? Everything you have mentioned here has to do with dealing with "sin."
ahhh he had plenty to do, I misunderstood the question....His work involved him being who he is as creator and sustainer of all.... our work would be to be human?

What about all the work He did during the "six days of Creation?"
Apart from using the fruits of the Spirit (as stated..preeching and showing His love and such)...

When Adam and Eve were created they were told to take care of the earth. Their animals and plants, of which God created. Had He not created man, He would have tended them Himself.

That is what I consider to be part of God's work. Take care of and love everything we have. To work and help.

Are we really Christians if we are following the ideas of preachers rather than the Christ?
It can be hard to seperate the two in some cases. Even the Bible was actually penned by man, and we are to follow it..right?

However, I agree.

A question I could ask ... and then be reported. :o Still it is healthy food for thought. :yum:

You can ask all you want and argue all you want here in the Progressive sub-forum. It's open to everyone. :)
