He was speaking to his disciples. But if you check the Greek, it's a different word in Matthew 5:22, which can be transliterated as "moros."

I don't know much at all about greek, but that may be where we get "moron" from.

It seems that the one in Luke is more like, "you're slow thinking," but the one in Matthew is like, "you're too stupid to understand and you'll never get it."

Might want to check with someone who studies the Greek more.

As for the Galatians scripture the word used is a completely different word in the Greek and poorly translated in the KJV. Here it is in Young's Literal Translation.
Gal 3:1 O thoughtless Galatians, who did bewitch you, not to obey the truth--before whose eyes Jesus Christ was described before among you crucified?

anoētos does not equate to mōros

In modern day speech maybe, 'use your head for something besides a hat rack, consider what you have been taught'

There is a fool [English definition] and then there is FOOL, 'moros' [Greek and equal Hebrew definition.]
I don't know about you, but my Bible wasn't spoken in English or written in English.
