I read the first two books of the manga...I liked it a lot but it was ages ago. I know what the anime version look like but I never actually watched it. Did you know there's also a live action series of it as well?

well the guyver innit looks cooler but the show's aimed for kids.
Wait. You're not talking about Yoshiki Takaya's Bio-Booster Armor Guyver are you? I mean, targeted to kids?
I never heard of a live action series (there have been a couple of live action movies that stunk, but those were PG-13 and R).

is this anime onlyl in japan? because I've honestly never even heard of it...
No. The original manga is available in graphic novel form up to book 7, but #8 to #15 (I think, maybe 16) are in "indefinite hiatus" (darn Viz comics!)
The original anime series, and an OAV should be available at Blockbuster (been at everyone I've seen), or availble from Manga entertainment. This only goes up to book 4, 5, and 6 (it doesn't stick completely to the manga).
The new anime series (a remake) is only in Japan right now, and is supposed to cover the new issues.
The basic story goes...
High school student Sho Fukamachi discovers an alien device (that crash lands in front of him after a distant explosion) called a Guyver unit. It merges with him, and he must now fith against the Chronos corporation to protect his friends and the world from a plot to take over the world through the use of Zoanoids (genetically altered humans with the ability to mutate into fierce battle forms).
The story is a bit dark, and violent, with the lead characters constantly having things go wrong for them. At it's surface, the story seems pretty simple, but when tied to conspiracy theories and Gnosticism (which the author didn't do, but certainly could have), the story gets even more interesting.
