  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I see that face, I'm not clicking that.

If I'm going to rot my brain, it's going to be on my own terms.

And the real scary thing is...I think that advert is quite accurate...

which, sadly, is one of the reasons it's soooo funny.

I think it depends on what you use it for. There are lots of really educational shows on TV, things you'd never be introduced to anywhere else, so I believe it's based on how much you watch, what you watch and what else you do in your spare time.

I think you're right ND...I like the educational programs...but mostly I watch TV for the mindless drivel...I spend a lot time over-working my brain...(see the smoke...^_^)...so I do really enjoy a bit of senselessness (is that a word?) from time to time.

I had friends...back in the 70's who refused to have a television in their home because they thought the Gov was sending subliminal messages to make us apathetic....

I think like anything that good and bad can come from, only
our choices in what we watch will rot our brain.

The problem is just getting people to admit something is crappy
instead of trying to justify it as decent.

I find that people who watch garbage don't admit that it's garbage,
they try to make excuses that it's not filthy as if the content is
fine. I wish they'de be honest about it - becuz they sure can't
fool God with their justifications.

I'm the first to admit that I do watch stuff that will rot a brain -
I just watch it anyways & 'filter' out what I know is wrong with it.
:holy:
& I will not watch what steps over the line for me in what I can't even enjoy if I do watch it. I can't & won't watch "Desperate Housewives" -
however, I will watch a zombie flick or Dexter in a heartbeat :| ^_^
& personally I think the news can be very harmful to us too.
I think it turns us negative & pessimistic over time.

I think if we cut out ALL bad content, I think we'd have to
throw away our tv's entirely

& that's another way tv/hollywood rots our brains ---
Alec Baldwin was taped being verbally abusive to his 12 yr old daughter
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8J0-ZatDHug

then gets jobs & accolades from Hollywood right after.

Constant reinforcement of bad behaviour.
Sex tapes get out into the public & instead of shame, the
person gains celebrity/fame & gets rich. :o

This is another way your brain gets rotted; evil is rewarded.

I thought the same thing...and said to hubby...Alec Baldwin could not have been a better face to advert brain rot...and what's wrong with Hollywood.

Interesting though...these ppl take the worst of the worst of who and what to advertise their company....are they trying reverse psychology to sell their product?

Like...OK you think it's bad...well....it is bad...and we have badest of the bad spokesperson...but whatcha gonna do about it...get rid of your tv AND your computer?...Face it...we gotcha!

=0)

People only do what they can get away with and what works.

Maybe this is like teaching kids something new that gets people's attn,
so they keep doing it to get the reactions?.

I like hulu.:) I can watch fox business channel reruns of Dave Ramsey.:sorry:

I'd never heard of hulu until my hubby pointed it out to me after the Super Bowl. I had a lot of fun on the website looking at "stuff"

Their advert really got my attention and I must say...whether questionable or not...it certainly is effective...^_^

Well...'cept to those who refuse to click on Alec Baldwin's face...
