This was mentioned in another thread by a RC concerning the Peter and Paul of the NC in the Bible.
Question does the Roman Church put too much focus on the Peter and not enough on the Paul. Thoughts?

That is what everything comes from and why Protestantism, like it or not, is always relevant--that is to say, because it always can point back to the Word of God himself, the God who cannot be wrong in his revelation, and see what it says.

How much different is this from those churches which follow some constantly evolving stream of ideas and are cut loose from that which ultimately is our sure foundation.

I agree that a special affection would be understandable from gentiles towards Peter.

But that in no way means that too much attention is given to Peter.

We can hold a special love for Lancelot in King Arthur without diminishing Arthur's seat of authority.

That analogy doesn't wash with me

Galatians 1:1 Paul, a commssioner not from men, neither through man, but through Jesus Christ and God, Father of the one rousing Him out of dead-ones,
6 I am marveling that thus swiftly ye are being changed/translated from the calling of ye into a different Good-Message.
7 which is not another if no any are the ones disturbing ye and willing to pervert the Good-Message of the Christ.
8 But even ifever we, or a messenger out of heaven, should be messaging to ye beside which we well-messagizing to ye, anathema/anaqema <331> let him be.
9 As we have declared before and at present again I am saying if any is well-messagizing beside which ye beside got, anathema/anaqema <331> let him be.
Reve 22:3 and every anathema/kat-anaqema <2652> not shall be still. And the throne of the God/YHWH and of the Lamb-kin/Word in Her shall be, and His bond-servants shall be offering divine-service to Him.

Darn that Jesus for giving Peter the keys to the Kingdom of heaven.
Ya think Peter will be sitting in the middle of these 12 Thrones when they are judging the Nations of "judah and israel"?

Matthew 19:28 The yet JESUS said to them, "Amen I am saying to ye, that ye the ones-following to Me in the again-generation, whenever should be seating the Son of the Man upon a throne glory of Him, shall be being seated also ye on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of the Israel.

Shame the rest of the apostles didn't get them and only Peter could lay hands on anyone..I wonder how the 70 did their ministry..

I always liked this verse: 20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone...

There is only one Prime Minister in every Kingdom.

That has nothing to do with laying hands on people. As I said in another post:

We all have the Holy Spirit, but we don't all have the same gifts. I don't know why I have to repeat that endlessly:

Ephesians 4:11-13: ...And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ....

And why does God give the gift of infallibility to the apostles and their successors?

Ephesians 4:14: ....As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine.....

Yes: We Catholics are NOT "tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine" as the multiple protestant denominations are. This is how Christ intended it to be.

Sure, you are.
Only the ones who don't adhere to Church teaching, and this is what the Catechism says about them:

2089 ....."Heresy is the obstinate post-baptismal denial of some truth which must be believed with divine and catholic faith, or it is likewise an obstinate doubt concerning the same; apostasy is the total repudiation of the Christian faith; schism is the refusal of submission to the Roman Pontiff or of communion with the members of the Church subject to him."11

http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt3sect2chpt1.htm#2089http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt3sect2chpt1.htm#2089

And as I have said before, there is a BIG difference between individual Catholics not adhering to the teachings of their Church, and entire protestant denominations FORMALLY teaching opposing doctrines.

No one is saying only Peter could lay hands. Well... except for you.
