  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Does the Pill Cause Abortion?

No.

Since my posts from the other thread were censored because I'm not Christian (which is just as bad as censoring someone because they ARE Christian) I've decided to move my opinions here to a different forum.

What I said was that there is absolutely NO proof from any kind of secular website that the BC Pill is an abortifacent.

^^^Here is the link to the original debate in more context.

And here are some pertaining to how the Birth Control Pill works:

Birth Control Pill

Sexual Health: Birth Control - The Birth Control Pill

Birth Control Pill - Oral Contraceptive

"Pro Lifers" will often debate that the pill will cause an existing pregnancy to abort, or that the pill raises risk for disease, etc. Please post your thoughts here.

Is it ethical to take the Birth Control Pill?

Yes. And it's ethical to use the other hormonally-based contraceptives such as Depo-Provera shots, estrogen implants, the estrogen skin patch, Nuvaring, the hormonal IUD, etc. Provided that there are no medical contraindications, and proper informed consent has been given.

Hey, so does not eating right. Thus we should require all women who have a chance to get pregnant (and even if you aren't sexually active, the fact that you may be raped still counts) to eat well, exercise well in a fashion that protects the uterus, and to not take any extra risk not needed. We can start by installing cameras into such women's homes to make sure they take good care of themselves, otherwise we are encouraging abortion.
