It seems when we are living our lives for the Lord and the Lord is using us mightly - there are always road blocks that cancel or delay the work - it seems like the enemy knows when to throw road blocks in our path.

The attacks seem to be harder on those working for the Lord.

What do you think?

Huh... I doubt he even knows our taughts.. (I know someone explained it to me once, suported by scripture...) I think he just has so much experience in "tourching" people around, that he just can predict a bit when to throw something on you... And of course he attacks those who fight against him... :=) That is a good sign!!!

The devil does not know our future. He can see direction that a person is moving in.

A person who is believing God especially operating in faith is in the spirit world like the only person standing up in a crowd. Very easily picked out.

The devil is not the brightest bulb in the pack but he can tell who is accomplishing the Lord's work. Therefore he will concentrate his energy on them.

The problem is the devil's though, because those people just keep getting stronger and stronger. Drives the devil nuts.

Does the enemy know our future?

Who cares if he does - we know his future and it ain't pretty!

Praise God, only He knows all of the future, and He has told us the end - we win!

Yes, the enemy has had a lot of time to get good at guessing, but that's all.

Does tommorow exist? No.

So what is there to know about something which does not exist?

First, remember that:

  • the devil is NOT omnipresent - he can only be in one place at one time.
  • The devil is not omniscient - his knowledge is limited.
  • the devil has NONE of the attributes of God
Second, if he's ever even heard of you, who cares.

I'd like to say he knows my future because I tell everyone through my words and actions what it is.

And boy oh boy do I like to remind him of his future.

No, but he knows his future, and I know satans' future. It is dire. I love throwing it in his face when he dares to mess with me. Come mere satan, let me tell you about what Jesus did to you, and what He is going to do to you in your future. No, wait, dont' flee yet, devil, I'm not done!! Let me tell you first, and then you can flee in terror. *laughs*

that's about right. satan knows we're all called to witness for Jesus and to do the works of the ministry. That's all he needs as incentive to attack us,

I believe that the devil is a fallen arch angel.

As such, he is powerful. He knows scripture better then me and has no problem quoting it if it serves his purpose.

I believe a third of the angels in heaven fell with him and these are organized in a governmental hierarchy. Paul refers to this as “powers and principalities “. I do not think that the devil even knows my name as I’m sure his personal attention is devoted to some higher up on the food chain. However, I also believe that he has some in his organization who know exactly who I am. Their job is to overcome me and destroy me. They don’t sleep, and they don’t rest. Neither do they “win” unless I am foolish. I understand that the battle rages and wounds are the result. (on both sides).

While the devil is not omnipresent I believe that as a spirit being he can move around at the speed of thought therefore functionally he covers a lot of ground.

As to the question as to if he knows my thoughts. I have certainly engaged his minions in prayerful thought, and, they have engaged me in my thoughts. So, IMO to some extend he or his minions know my plans.

I think it is wrong to underestimate him. Yes, we have authority over him. But, our authority is in Christ. It is not found in our own wisdom, understanding, or will. I believe in some ways our authority is like that of a policeman. A policeman has all the authority of the kingdom as it pertains to the laws and rule of it, but, no more then that. If he (a policeman) acts in his own authority he stands alone and the king will demand his badge.

I believe we are warned in scripture by both Peter and Jude against having a haughty attitude towards spiritual beings. Jesus Himself told us not to rejoice in the fact that demons are subject to us. Instead, rejoice that our names are recorded in heaven.

I believe that in Christ I can overcome the devil and his minions every time, but, there is a cost involved in every battle I face. I don’t go looking for trouble. I go where God says go. It is quite possible that someday I could loose my life in the struggle. (As did Paul, Peter, and most of the apostles) I still win if I overcome by the blood of the lamb, the word of my testimony, and because I don’t love my life so much I won’t lay it down.

Finally, I believe that the devil and his minions like nothing better then to get our focus off of God and on to them. This is a dangerous business we are in. It is good to stay close to our captain. Our focus needs to be on Him.

The devil is only an angel. He can only be in one place at one time, he cannot read minds, or tell the future. For this reason I think that the sinful nature is a much bigger problem.

Only God is omnipresent, only God is omniscient, not the devil.

Serving God is like running cross country. The further you go, the more you do, then the more dirty your running shoes will become. It does not mean that the mud was put there deliberately just to get you.

1 Corinthians 2:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory,
8 which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
9 But as it is written: "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him."
10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit.

Romans 16:19 For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore I am glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil.
20 And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

Ephesians 4:20 But you have not so learned Christ,
21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus:
22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts,
23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
25 Therefore, putting away lying, "Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor," for we are members of one another.
26 "Be angry, and do not sin": do not let the sun go down on your wrath,
27 nor give place to the devil.

I am not trying to argue, but how, just how, do we get tempted in just a way where we feel like we can't stand it????
I don't get it, lately.
