• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Does sinning on a Sunday make sin worse?

I've struggled with this issue before as well. And I still am tempted. But the Lord can help you overcome. It's not an unforgivable act guitarintro, but it is offensive to the Lord, and it hurts Him. Pray that the Lord will give you strength to overcome this. I will pray for you. Get rid of anything that may be feeding you temptation. Block any bad sites. Don't type any bad sites in. When you feel tempted, pray to God to give you strength. You're not the only one who struggles with this form of lust. God bless.

Thanks for the replies. However, what if I thought it was unforgivable, but still carried on with the sexual act? Does it make this issue more or less of a sin? Is it unforgivable or forgivable?

"On Sunday, I masturbated and I had the thought that this act may be blasphemous. However, I continued the act and ignored the thought. Is this blasphemous in any way?"

I'm pretty sure we have all chose to sin even when we knew it was wrong. I have done it plenty of times. Afterwards it leaves me feeling pretty guilty, miserable, confused....The sin may be attractive to the flesh at that very moment, but the consequences afterwards just simply are not worth it. The Lord is willing to forgive you if you tell Him you are sorry for it. But instead of trying to turn things around yourself, ask Him to take control of the situation. He can deliver you and cleanse you completely.
