  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Shalom,

Scripture says: "we must repent toward Yeshua the Messiah; and trust in him completely in order for us to be forgiven and saved. (Acts 3:19) Only by dedicating ourselves to Yeshua in complete trust can we be saved. (Matthew 10:37-38; 7:21-26) We have been given a new life by the power of the Holy Spirit of God. Yeshua died and rose in order to forgive us and cleanse us of sin. (Romans 6:1-14) God forgives on the condition that we forgive others. If we refuse to forgive, then God will refuse our entrance to heaven. (Matthew 6:14-15; 18:23-35). If you love me, you will obey what I command. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever—; We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him." Look at the word "OBEY". (John 14:15-16; Acts 5:32)"

Yeshua came and did what he did so that we can be forgiven, given a new life through the Holy Spirit that is given to us because of Yeshua’ resurrection, and transformed into the image of holiness that Yeshua himself reflected while he was human. This is the gospel that Paul, John, and the writer of Hebrews preached. We are saved by grace because we have faith. If we loose our faith we loose our grace; and if we loose that, then we loose everything that comes with it. Faith is the conviction that something is truth. Conviction brings with it, a desire and attempt to act in accordance with this truth. Faith in Jesus is no different. "faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead." (James 2:17)

My question to the community today is: Do you love God enough to willingly sacrifice EVERYTHING to serve him. If not, then you are not a REAL believers.

(Matthew 19:29): "And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life." Those who believe in Yeshau obey Him. Those who knowingly disobey Yeshua, do so to their own damnation. For it is written: For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. (Hebrews 10:26-27) In Matthew 25: 1-13, the people symbolized by the five wise virgins know that God wants us to obey him. The five foolish virgins are those who base their salvation on dead faith. These kinds of people believe the gospel of Yeshua the Messiah to be a fact of history and believe that they are saved for believing this. According to versus 10-12, they will not enter the kingdom of God and will be rejected by Jesus Christ himself.

Matthew 7:24-27
To have his word and do them is the foundation of our "house".

Very true David.
Walk in this doctrine and you will not be put to shame or backslide.

To have correct doctrine is youth and to walk in correct doctrine is maturity.
Walk therein and you will be a leader of men in years to come.

Romans 3:20-24
20 Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin. 21 But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus

Ephisians 4:7

7 But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it

Romans 6:14

14 For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.

God's Grace is sufficient to save us brother

Grace is not given unless faith is present and faith is defined by how it manifests.

GOOD (and YES! - MANY YEARS AGO DONE SEALED AND DELIVERED)
RIGHT and TRUE.
No one can be Y'SHUA'S disciple unless they give up everything. (have only met a few who have, in decades)

Where? Could you explain to me the meaning of grace?
How about here in Acts
10 Now then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of Gentiles a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors have been able to bear? 11 No! We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are.”
Acts 15:10-11

Grace:(in Christian belief) the free and unmerited favor of God, as manifested in the salvation of sinners and the bestowal of blessings

Interestingly, people thought that obeying and trusting in the Messiah thus resulting in true faith which proceeds to grace is a sort of "work". Obeying is a goal you peruse but never am able to fulfill. You fight to do it all your days and almost accomplish it. Your flesh and your brain are your greatest enemies. The devil will flea from you; but your flesh and brain are always present till you die.

That is why we don't rely on our works to please God. We can only rely upon his Grace and mercy
8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

Correct. Look at what Abraham did. That is faith in God's grace.

"Salvation comes by grace through faith and faith is made real by obedience."

This is how I came to reject Sola Fide... It's a hot topic, and controversial, but a huge part of why imho salvation is a journey of faith and faithfulness manifested through works, not only a matter of faith.

Faith apart from the works of the Law of Moses, yes. But if you positively view the NT in light of the Tanakh and visa versa, it becomes clear that Christ gave and is a New Torah, to be followed and lived by. That's how I see it.

Yes, it is a new torah, a new covenant. I will start another thread regarding this when I'm free.

My question to the community today is: Do you love God enough to willingly sacrifice EVERYTHING to serve him. If not, then you are not a REAL believers.
Is this something a person can do by his own effort?
