I read an article on K-pop fandom cult and it said obsession is the requirement to idol worship

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

They are called Idols for a reason , because people worship them like Idols .
Same goes for person who is waking up and first thing he does is checking what News says about Trump or Hilary . Idol worship .
If you have nothing to do for 5 min and you pull your phone from your pocket it's idol worship aswell . It did not ring , nobody message you but you had to just hold it in your hand for a while .
Everything can be Idol .

It can be. Now there can be instances where the Lord can place someone on your mind continually because He wants you to be praying for them and/or minister to them eventually. This can seem almost like an obsession sometimes when it is actually the Lord causing you to focus very heavily on one person for a time. Especially the case if it is someone you are called to marry. But because strong emotions can be involved, you have to be careful that you are not simply reading your own thoughts into the matter as being "God's thoughts."
