  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I make all different types i am hoping to learn some others any sites you know of that might have some different patterns?
Are these the ones made by knot-tying (what I would call miniature macrame, but I don't know if that word is still in general use) using 6-strand embroidery floss? My daughters are very fond of those. But they make up their own designs now; and when they started they got their designs from a book. I don't know of any websites.

Have you ever done them for other uses, besides bracelets? Like for a hair-band, or for a pretty trim along the top of a pocket or for edging on guest-towels? They might make good Christmas presents, even for older people, if you used the craft in one of those ways.

Anne speaking: Rachel and I have been doing those for quite a while. we started with the really simple ones but we thought up at least one new one. I can't remember what they're called but do you know those ones where you end up with a line of Vs? we made a double one of those by tying an extra knot in the centre. KLUTZ makes a book about them with a little kit attached that has some really cool designs in it. I like the 'rag rug' and the 'broken ladder'. the double chain knot one can be pretty cute too though and you can get some great effects by combining them. I havcen't tried this yet but I wonder what kind of bracelet you'd get by doing a length of every one in the book in order?

another suggestion for something to do with them would be to make two enourmously long ones and use them for shoelaces. have you ever tried tying some sort of button or something on to keep it a) closeable b)removable and c) tight? if so how does it work?

friendship-bracelets.de has some great patterns! They cost $1 each, I have not bought any yet, but I looked at the examples and the seem very well explained. Some of them are amazing, I wanted to try to figure some out on my own, but I think it is worth the money. I dont know how people figure some of these out.
