  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I used to have betas and for what you tell me it seems like your fish has some sort of infection :S Don't worry about it, though, okay? There are drops that you can put to the water and he'll heal. Also, if you have any sort of ornament where you have him that you didn't buy at a pet shop (like stones or even sea shells you picked up), get rid of those fast.

I have had 3 or 4 betas before but I have never heard of anything like that. My 3rd beta had some kind of infection where he got all slimy. It wasn't because of algae because I cleaned his tank every week. But it survived through it. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about.

Yes, there are drops you can buy in the store to put in the water to heal infections. The decorations in an aquarium need to be disinfected by putting them into boiling water for at least 15 minutes, if they can withstand such a thing. If not, don't use them. I had betas before, and it was always difficult for me to keep them healthy. I had other fish that were easier to keep healthy. I don't know what it was wrong with the betas, but perhaps it was because of the store where I purchased them from.
