There is every type of music out there that is Christian, rock, R n B, Hip, Hop, Dance, Classical everything. So just sayin Christian music is abit like saying for a non-chrisitan 'I dont like music.' Have a look around, im sure theres some christian music you will like.

I don't like Praise and Worship, which I'm pretty sure is what you're talking about (for the sound and all). Then again, I'm a pure Classical fan, so that bumps out all contemporary music, never mind what it's about (except for certain movie scores). As for Christian music, I think The Messiah was God inspired.

hi. I want to start by saying that i hate christian music. I am a heavily dedicated and faithful christian, but i cannot stand the sound of that music. am i alone?

I believe you are referring to modern style, in which I would agree. To be fair, I would have to say that there are a few that are not bad, but most of them do not have depth. The really bad ones are those where you can replace the word "Lord", "God", or "Jesus" with "my boyfriend" or "my girlfriend", and the lyrics still fit perfectly well. As for sound, grandeur or reverence seems to be lacking as well in modern songs.

Frankly, I prefer classical, particularly chant(any form, gregorian or byzantine). I'll take 'Agni Parthene' anytime over 'As the deer'.

The problem with praise songs...
they're often vague with no depth, with no theology, or they are egocentric

The problem with "Christian" music...
they're often vague, with no theology, with no musical talent backing it

However, there are *some* good praise songs. I prefer hymns, but there are a few praise songs that are solid. And there are *some* good artists who are Christians in the Christian industry. OK, I can only count about five, but...same difference.

When it comes to worship, though...something God has been teaching me lately is that what I sing on Sunday has nothing to do with the worship. Granted, I don't have to sing words in church that contradict God's word, but I also need to keep my heart bowed.
