• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Yes i think life is hard. i feel really lonely, and dont think anyone really cares. my husband works long hours gone to bed now wont see him tomorrow. please will someone reply to me to show that they care! am hurting in a particular friendship it so hard!
Hi, Jo1,
Being lonely is a very almost emotionally crippling thing.
I don't know which is worse, feeling very lonely or depression. The two do go hand in hand, but i feel lonliness causes us to feel like no-one cares and no pun intended, causes us to feel isolated, and not a part of things. I pray that your lonliness would soon end and be replaced with peace and happiness
If you ever need to talk, you can always PM me.
Chuck.

Hi,
You're welcome. Friends can cause hurts over and over again, and let you down. I don't know why they say they're friends and then do the things they do. One thing for sure, I think there are a lot of friends that do this, but my idea of a friend is a little different i guess.

Yeah, people let us down, don't they? :( I guess it happens to everyone, but it doesn't make it hurt any less.

You said you try not to put your hope in people. I understand that ... one thing about depression is that it can cause you to start withdrawing from people, for fear of exactly that, I guess ... getting hurt. (Believe me, I understand!) But in reality, it doesn't help to do that. We need people. We just need to find the right balance between putting our hope in God alone, while still allowing Him to show His love to us through other people. It seems like maybe that's what you're doing by coming here.

I don't have any great advice, I'm afraid. Just wanted to let you know I'm listening and I'm praying for you.

I was thinking. If she's your cell leader, she must be a
somewhat mature christian. If it upsets you about the situation, maybe she'll listen if you were to talk to her.
