Does any game even exist with the quality of graphics of Dracula:Resurrection?

Hi everyone, I own this game and the 3-D graphics are animation/video quality, and I was wondering if anyone knows of any other role-playing/adventure or Hidden Object/adventure type game with graphics of the same quality?

I have never found one that can compare, with the exception of a Sci-Fi fist-person shooter one I watched the video for on Gamespot about 2 years or so ago,but can't remember which game it was,and I believe it was for the X-Box 360 or PS2 or 3. I saw it when my daughter and I were trying to decide which console system to get her son(my grandson). Really awesome looking mutants and scenery!

From Gamespot..."The problems with the puzzles and the story would make Dracula Resurrection a complete waste of time if it weren't for one factor that almost tips the scales in the game's favor: the graphics. The game looks stunning. The environments are truly creepy, from the shadowy interiors to the dark, snowy roads. There's significant detail in each location, and there's a general sense of foreboding that would be really scary if it weren't so apparent early in the game that nothing bad is going to happen. Though the animations of moving from one location to the next are few and far between, they're also great.

But the characters are even better. They're both realistic and stylized, and they're certainly some of the best-looking rendered human characters ever to appear in a PC game. These characters are featured in several exciting cutscenes, two of which are especially good. It's unfortunate that the whole game can't carry the momentum of these sequences. "

It has some nice scenery, but the characters are amateur by today's standards. Considering it's a 10 year old game, it's to be expected. Was probably high quality back then. But with games coming out now, especially ones in HD format, games from 10 years ago can't compare.

What on earth are you talking about???

PCs have been using the "HD" format, and surpassing it, since the mid-90s.

In fact, I just watched some gameplay of this game and the characters DO look as good as anything. They're about on par with what we see today.

Fallout 3.

To be honest, there ARE other games that do compare to Dracula and I suppose to surpass it, but Dracula, at least the characters, wouldn't look to out of place today.

It's 9 years old,but since I go to Gamespot and the other sites to see what is new,I was wondering why after 9 years of technology I have yet to see a game with graphics that surpass those in Dracula:Resurrection?

Can you name any with clips that are online to compare?

I'm speaking more along the lines of console gaming there with PS3 using Blu Ray and Xbox unsuccessfully attempting HDDVD. PC games can obviously take on any resolution, but that is completely dependent on your hardware.

Oblivion is really pretty, I think. The character models are very good, but not great like in Metal Gear Solid 4. The environment is BEAUTIFUL, though.

Wow, ok,I have to agree on The Elder Scrolls IV:Oblivion, too.

Would my Pc play that? It has ...AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5600+, MMX, 3DNow (2 CPUs), ~2.9GHz, ATI Radeon Xpress 1250, and 894MB RAM,DirectX 9.0c,Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3.

I have an issue with the builder because I told him I did not want any integrated graphics, and just found out months later what is inside. Dummy me,never thought to check right away?

Thanks so much for the info suggestion,Oblivion really does look awesome, even better than Syberia.

Onboard graphics isn't something you can easily get away from as most boards have some sort of graphics chipset on them these days. All you need to do to override it is add your own graphics card though, which you will need to do to play higher end games.

Your chipset is pretty decent for gaming, however, I would up the ram. Ram is cheap these days so drop 4gb in it and call it done.

Oblivion is a very good game with a huge modding scene. We're all waiting for the new Elder Scrolls game to be announced soon. Till then, I'm playing Dragon Age Origins.

It'll run on your PC. I'd upgrade the video card and RAM, though. I don't know about ATI cards very well, but if you went Nvidia, any GeForce 7800GT and up will be fine. The GeForce 8800GT cards are probably pretty cheap now, and should run Oblivion at full (or almost full) settings. 1GB of RAM is fine, but 2GB would be perfect. 4GB isn't needed, but it certainly wouldn't hurt!

Thanks for that info,guys!:)

The new Hidden Object Game "Mystery Case Files: Dire Grove" looks very impressive, but alas I don't have the RAM to run it!:(

If you want really good eye candy, try something like Oblivion on high with some of the graphical mods.

Hi, I don't think my PC could even run Oblivion, but I just discovered it is rated "Mature" for language and sexual themes" among other reasons,so as a Christian, I would avoid it anyway.

Actually I am totally satisfied with Resurrection and now NiBiRu Age Of Secrets, which may actually surpass Dracula: Resuurection. I am just going to find out.

Happy Gaming New Year Everyone!:):wave::clap:

Don't always trust ratings. The people who rate the games are likely not Christian, or at least not rating them from Christian guideline. It's a secular rating system based on what society deems to be appropriate for certain ages to see. I generally completely ignore rating systems. I read reviews of games and judge the content based on that.

There's no direct cursing of God that I can think of in it, nor should there be. The game is set in a fantasy universe government by nine "gods", which are much closer to the gods of Greek/Roman mythology than a monotheistic creator God. The common curse that you see abbreviated as "[wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth]" is "by the nine" in Oblivion. I guess if you disapprove of reading Homer's Odyssey, you might also disapprove of this game. Of course, if that's the case, I question as to why you're playing a game featuring Dracula in it.

The sexual themes are quite mild; especially compared to anything on TV. I don't remember the language being any worse than on a PG-13 movie.

As Jesus said (paraphrase), it's not what goes into your body... but what comes out. Oblivion is an RPG where you can choose to be a good or evil character. If you choose good, you won't see much or any of the stuff that gave it its "M" rating. If you choose to be evil, you will end up doing quests to learn dark magic, steal things, murder people, etc. It's a game where you choose what sort of character you are. I completely recommend it if you're interested in RPGs at all.

BTW, the graphics in NiBiRu are good... but already a bit dated. There is better out there, believe it or not! BTW, do you even know what Nibiru means? If you did, and you're so opposed to curing in games, I'm surprised you'd go near anything with that name. It's directly linked to Assyrian/Babylonian mythology, which is still well alive today I might add!
