There is a little known doctrine that is vanishing. The priesthood of every saint was that each saint could evangelize their community. Many modern churches have forgot this for more modern programs which involve limited workers with the exception of manual labor. Of course we are not going back to tracts that really started in olden time like the book time without modern technology. But every saint playing a part in evangelism started most denoms with the idea theyd chat up their friends and coworkers and neighbors. This is more practical than door to door or tracts or street evangelism. The Church needs to be reacquainted with this idea as numbers of converts are failing.

There appears to be little interest in this as many are more concerned with maintaining order and control. To allow all believers to speak for the local church is difficult for even a serious discussion of their beliefs would cause more divisions than unity. The solution is to limit involvement and control what is and is not believed. I have never ever attended a church that ever clearly said what they believe least they undermine the authority of church leadership and hence leadership is more concerned with maintianing the sudjection of its members acting as shepherds by fleecing and milking the flock for heir own purposes. The preisthood of all believers is something only the spirit of God could cope with, but men would fear such a thing for they would fear anything they cannot control.
