I mean, I totally get what you're saying. Honestly, I think if we could comprehend what God was doing in our modern day world, it would blow our minds. It's all very deep; too deep for our limited human understandings to fathom. But I've seen Him working. I can't tell you why the world is so troubled, but the older I get, the more I notice God's hand in the midst of things. I keep watching Him turn tragedies and great difficulties around for the ultimate good. We like to think the world can be divided into "good things" and "bad things", but I don't think that's how God sees it. He uses everything for good in the end; even the things we call dystopian. It's all just like a machine where each piece plays a unique part, but the whole machine has the same goal. In this case, I think that goal is God's glory and the salvation of the world. It's going to be a hard road to get there, but God can see ahead - I think He knows that this will be worth the current suffering. I do sometimes wish I lived in another time myself (I'm very partial to the 1950's haha). But I don't think I would choose to time travel even if I could. Right now, I live in the same time as some of the people I love most. I wouldn't be able to pray for them or help them if I ran away to the 50's. And as some of these people are still unsaved, I feel really grateful to be able to help them in this timeline. I honestly think, even though things are hard right now, we just need to consider the people God placed us here to help. When we give ourselves over to service, we find that that life isn't quite as bad as it seems. It's all very hard to deal with and process and I feel you there. I think we just have to accept that God sees the big picture. Our vision is limited. His is limitless. He knows why things are like they are now. Even still, He is working hard to bring people to Him. And that's a hopeful thought. Hope this helps a little bit, friend. Keep your chin up. Ashley
