He is going to fail. It is just a matter of time. Bush acted just like Hoover. Hoover spent more money on public works in 4 years than the government did in the previous twenty and raised all kinds of tariffs (TAXES.) Then comes Roosevelt with the raw deal. Some claim it was WWII that got us out of the great depression. I say it was post WWII that did it. For how many years was the US the only modern country that had manufacturing plants that did not have bomb craters for floors. Hard to use a lathe that is just chunks of melted and twisted steel.

So, Bush tries his stimulus which amounts to more of the same borrow and spend and not cut spending. Along comes the FDR analogy, Obama, with his borrow, tax, spend, borrow some more, spend some more, print a bunch, tax even more, create new taxes (carbon credits), talk down the economy, tax even more, borrow, give it to Hamas, spend some more, and tell every-one how much the US sucks, then promise to bankrupt an industry, and force another the make what no-one wants, then tax some more, force solvent banks to take bailout money, national
ise the rest, spend some more, and take working capital and give it to those who do not work. Yea, I see that working.

You know, now that I think about it, you're probably right.

A lot of the production of US weapons took place in factories that had been retooled from making jukeboxes, sewing machines, postal meters, and things like that. (Don't believe me, look at who made M1 carbines that the CMP is peddling.)

Conservatives tend to think they have a crystal ball. "He is going to fail." Give me a break.

Even the pundits you champion only HOPE he is going to fail. They can't tell you emphatically like you did romanov. You can't see the future, if you could, you'd definitely have a place in office. Wouldn't you?

It disgusts me to see some people wanting him to fail, or predicting that he will fail. Of course they have nothing to lose...if Obama succeeds (which he will, despite the actions and efforts of the right wing) we all succeed, including them. If his plans don't pan out well enough, quickly enough, they will try to seize power using the argument that 'he failed.'

Shameful, at best...Especially in the light of their unapologetic, blind support for Bush/neo-con disastrous leadership.

They are playing a very devious and unpatriotic game with the future of this nation. I wonder what their grandchildren will think of them?

European-style socialism hasn't destroyed Norway, or Sweden, or France, or the Netherlands.

(Their immigrant problem might--but that's a different issue.)

I seem to recall the dems throwing a hissyfit over having their patriotism challenged because they didn't like Bush. But go against the God-President, then you're anti-American scum.

Gotta love the hypocracy.

Our socialism will look more like Britain's. With the all-powerful government looking to control and regulate every aspect of our lives. Once they're footing the bill for our healthcare and everything else, then it's only a matter of time before the government attempts to exert it's control over our lives, thus destroying the country and destroying our freedom and liberty.

In that sence, I hope Obama fails.

It's not hypocrisy...dissent is patriotic.
If Rush and the right wing were merely dissenting, they'd have a point.

Praying and hoping for the President to fail is not in any way patriotic.
Nor is it adult or intelligent.

I wonder where anyone would get the idea that Democrats wanted Bush to fail?

Heh.

In the words of one of their presidential candidates, someone that they elected to be the flag bearer of their party, "He betrayed this country."

to you want obama to succeed and lead us down a road with government in control of health care, the bank and insurance industries as well as the auto industry...or do you want him to fail and let some of these business fail with him?
Nope. I'm a ditto head so I understand the question and the hype the democratic controlled media are trying to do with this question. To those of you about to pounce on me, thats fine, I'm not going to respond. If you want a broader understanding of what this question is trying to imply and want the real answer is tune in to Rush Limbaugh today at noon. you can now throw tomatoes my eye protection is on.

Obama has succeeded already at talking down the economy and putting fright in every business from the smallest to the largest, leaving them on pins and needles.

And I don’t want it!

You equate Obama's success with the nation's. Since Obama's plans include goverment ownerships of banks, goverment take over of health care, you define success as the advancement of socialism.

Then you call those who oppose Obama's agenda as unpatriotic. You are the one playing games.

Depends on what one means by fail. I absolutely want to see him fail at implimenting certain aspects of his agenda but no, I don't want to see him fail as a president. And if one were to really look at what Rush said when he said he wanted to see Obama fail, I think any reasonable person would see that that is basically what he meant too.

Yes, it is laughable that people get upset because some Americans want bad policies to fail. You can't oppose the messiah.

Yes, laughable indeed.

I thought it was hilarious when pro-war people fumed over anti-war Americans because of bad policies regarding a meaningless war which did nothing but push America further into debt....The anti-war people could not convince the last messiah to stop that madness.
