It isn't completely wireless, though, is it? You have to have the mousepad to run the electrical current, and the mouspad has a wire. Correct?

I had one ( which I didn't like by the way) that had one part you plug in but you could put it about anyplace. Then the mouse itself was completely separate and not attached to anything. Wireless. You might say kind of like how a remote picks something up.

As I said ....

Now I have a battery free/wire free mouse - though the dedicated mouse mat isn't wire free!

But it's not an electrical wire - just your common or garden USB connection and since the bit that you're moving is wire free, what's the diff?

Never seen one like this before....so...the mouse is also not "mat-free" (like some)

Nope! And you always have a nice firm surface to work your mouse on, even if you put it on the settee! And you can have it overhang the edge of a table or something. It's just sooo convenient, I can't tell you. Also, if you take the mouse off the mat it 'goes out', so when your pc is hibernating, an accidental mouse move won't wake it up.

Guess you can tell I love it!
