Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Acts 1:7
7He said to them: "It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.

It is extremely irresponsible for you to advise people not to get an education. People have been saying this for millenia, and here we still are. I say, live your life as if any day could be the last and do all to the glory of God. That includes going to school, work, and fulfilling your responsibilities.

It amazes me so few Christians even know what time it is. So many will be in Bible school when Jesus comes it will shock you. Not to mention many of them who were not raptured.

Don't go to Bible school, go to Jesus and let him send you in his power because if your planning on a long University program you most likely won't have time to complete it. Wake up

It amazes me that after 2,000 years of failing to predict "the end", many christians still can't seem to comprehend Acts 1:7.

If you went to university you might realize that dispensationalism is based on terrible hermeneutics and misinterpretations, and makes no sense from any sort of a reasonable biblical studies position.
I agree! Wars and rumors of wars have been going on since the time of the resurrection and before that.

Um... we should live every day as if it is potentially our last on Earth, but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't be ready for a long life on Earth at the same time. Jesus could come back before I finish typing this post. Or next week. Or next year. Or 10 years from now. Or 50. Or longer. None of us really knows for sure. And none of us knows whether we'll wake up tomorrow morning, regardless of whether Jesus has come back or not. We should be ready for any possibility, whether it means leaving this world tonight or many years from now at a ripe old age.

There's nothing wrong with Bible School, and many people go to Jesus *and* to Bible School. They certainly aren't mutually exclusive choices.

The Word still has not been preached to the ends of the earth. There are many tribes that have not been reached, and regions of nations that have never had the Good News spread there. For this reason, I don't think He'll be coming back right away. Not that I would mind Him surprising me.

the end is near the end is near WOE!

this thread is worthless because people have been saying the rapture is near for almost 2000 years. it's about as likely the rapture will occur five mintues from now as it is likely that it'll occur five thousand years from now.

I have a question for the OP. What do you propose that those of us who are going to Bible school or who are planning to go in order to grow in our walks with Christ and knowledge of the Bible and maybe even serve the Lord - what should we do instead? Hunker down in our basements and pray that the rapture takes place soon before we die of starvation?

No one knows the day or time as someone else in this thread has pointed out. I do believe that we are getting closer but it still may not even happen for another century. or two. God alone knows the time. And to tell people who have been convicted by the Holy Spirit to do one thing not to do it is incredibly irresponsible

I believe the Church age will last for two thousand years from the day of pentacost. So depending on when the day of pentacost was, that would give us another 25 years or so.

There are some good Bible schools out there, just like there are some not so good schools out there. It is wonderful to "go to Jesus", but I also like to hear other people share with me what they have learned from going to Jesus.

I recommend at least a year of Bible school to learn some of the basics on how to interpret and understand the Bible. There are some basic rules that apply and every serious Bible student should learn them.
